Additional Members Join Local 229

Caw Local 229 has recently added a new unit, Brinks Canada Ltd. The twenty five new members located in Thunder Bay provide armoured car transportation, ATM servicing, currency and coin processing and other value-added services to banks, retailers and other commercial and governmental agencies. Presently their collective agreement will remain in place and a pre bargaining conference is scheduled for February 2010 in Toronto. Tenative bargaining dates are set for March.

Please be advised that New Benefit Booklets should be ready to be distributed very shortly. They should reflect the coverage that members enjoyed under the former provider. Please review and make the local union aware of any omissions or changes.

Also please note that now ALL CAW Members of Brinks, will or already have received a new DRUG CARD. Prior only certain groups had these, depending on which of the three (3) benefit packages you belonged to. Any questions or concerns should be directed to the local union office.
