Janet is a steward at Roseview Manor and has been a long time activist. Janet completed the 4 week Paid Education Leave in 2010 and has been very active at Local 229. She attends all membership meetings, is a volunteer at the summer picnics, Christmas parties, executive council conferences and attends every rally and picket for all Local 229 members. She currently sits on the Union in Politics committee where
she put in endless hours working the Provincial, Federal and Municipal election campaigns. Janet is very dedicated to our Local Union and will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our Executive Board as Sergeant at Arms.
"I have worked at the Revera Corporation for 24 years in almost every domestic capacity. Presently I am employed as a housekeeper at Roseview Manor. Volunteered to become a steward nearly two years ago and have applied myself to learn as much as possible to help our members. I have had grievance handling and pay equity training locally; have had the privileged of taking the 4 week PEL core program and conflict resolution at Port Elgin. I have worked with the union in politics committee; volunteered at council, for picnics and other social events and; I have worked on the standards of care campaign."
